Competence
Ensuring the health and safety competence of our contractors and sub-contractors remains a key strategy.
The Approved Code of Practice for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 recommends that health and safety competence is assessed using a set of core criteria. Speakmans Construction and the Peakway Construction Group has developed a Contractor’s Core Criteria Questionnaire to address this.
Strategy
Speakmans Construction and the Peakway Construction Group will ensure that its Group Companies incorporate the core health and safety criteria into their own competency vetting procedures.
Speakmans Construction and the Peakway Construction Group Companies work diligently to ensure that our own core health and safety criteria are not only met, but are exceeded and by doing so we believe that we set a clear example for others to follow. We take pride at being able to say that our own competencies are easily demonstrated as all Group Companies have been awarded with the full CHAS Accreditation.
Speakmans Construction and the Peakway Construction Group will encourage all with whom it deals with, including public sector authorities and organisations within the construction and refurbishment industries to ensure that the use of the core health and safety criteria is widely adopted.
