John Barnes appointed Chair of Greater Manchester Chamber’s Construction Sector Council

John Barnes, Commercial Director of Speakmans has recently been appointed as Chair of  the Greater Manchester Chamber’s Construction Sector Council. 

The purpose of the Sector Council is to set the vision and strategy for the development of the sector, including skills and employment, within the Greater Manchester sub-region.  The sector will identify areas requiring action and will develop and monitor suitable actions and strategies that address the identified needs of the sector to ensure its growth and competitiveness.

Commenting on John's appointment Cathy Broderick from Construction Industry Solutions the construction arm of Greater Manchester Chamber, said: "The Construction sector within Greater Manchester is very important to us, and no more so than now, we are delighted that John has agreed to be Chair of the Sector Council, with John's experience and understanding of the industry we are confident he will be able to guide the Council forward."
