Speakmans History

Speakmans Construction is one of the North West's leading Building Contractors. We have been established since 1906 in the North of Manchester, and started our trade as F. Speakman & Son (Plumbers) Ltd.

However, our unique selling point of ‘our ability to work around people’ has continually evolved and is the corner stone of our service offering.

In 1976 when the current Directors acquired the company, Speakmans Construction then became part of the Peakway Construction Group.

We now directly employ over 150 people for a variety of trades and office roles. 

2010 saw the relocation of our offices into one centralised office/depot location in Bury.  The new purpose built accommodation saw the end of a two year search for a new home for the Peakway Group with both Bolton Scaffolding and Banson Electric joining Speakmans at Peakway House to provide our clients with a total construction service offering.

Speakmans growth has led to servicing customers across the North West for maintenance and nationally for refurbishment projects.
