Apprenticeships

We are very proud of our apprenticeship programme which is supported by the CITB. At any time, we aim to have 15% of our workforce is made up of young people at various stages of their training.

We feel it is essential to invest in apprenticeships, as it both provides the professionals of the future and encourages their approach to total customer care when dealing with our clients.

The Accrington College Apprentice of the Year for Plumbing in 2003 & 2008 and for Joinery in 2004, 2006 & 2008 were both from Speakmans.

2009 Apprenticeship Intake
Given the impending relocation of Speakmans and other group companies within the North West; it has been decided that the apprenticeship programme will be suspended, due to the potential transportation problems new apprentices could face especially when considering that they will not be able be able to transport themselves outside of our current recruitment areas.
